Welcome! I’ll be honest, I’m not very good at writing about myself, but I thought I should introduce myself to the world. I’m Jen Heppell, 30 something mum of two from the Nottinghamshire Lincolnshire border. I have set up this website to tell you all about being a Virtual Assistant! Before we had children I worked at a national mobile network for 10+ years. Starting in the customer service department and moving on to systems admin. Supporting users with password resets, database administration and producing custom made reports for the business. I was made redundant whilst on maternity leave with my second baby and decided to take a few years at home. During this time I started helping my husband with his construction company, contacting customers, suppliers, invoicing and organising his schedule. I also became secretary of the local community centre helping to secure in excess of £40,000 in grants for a total renovation and re fitting of the kitchen, bar and hall area.
As my children have gone to school I decided I could use these skills I’ve learnt over the past few years to help other businesses in the same way. I’ve set up an office in my house with fast broadband and have been studying online marketing, to sharpen up my skills, learning all about the amazing app and website, Canva and now I am ready to take on more clients.
Until I started looking into it I didn’t realise that what I was doing had an actual name – a Virtual Assistant! By working together I can help other small businesses grow and develop and give business owners back their personal time, as we all know a lot of business owners work long hours into the night catching up on paperwork, invoicing etc.
