Repurposing content from blogs to social media

Repurposing content is an essential strategy for content marketing. You can repurpose your existing blog posts in a variety of ways, including turning them into videos and podcasts, creating graphics from them for social media platforms like Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook and twitter and more. Repurposing is another way to extend the life of a single piece of content and get even more mileage out it.

Post blog posts that solve a problem or answer a question and turn them into short videos.

This is a great way to get engagement on social media and promote your blog. When people are scrolling through their newsfeeds, they're looking for quick information and videos are easy to digest (and watch).

Here's an example of how this could work: If you have an article about how to create the perfect Instagram caption, turn it into a short video that shows people how to do just that.

Take blog post content and make it into microcontent for Instagram stories, Facebook and Twitter posts.

To make microcontent, you take a blog post and break it down into short, shareable bits of information. For example, a blog post on your website might be about how to grow an avocado tree in your backyard. You could then turn this into three different types of microcontent:

  • A video showing how to plant the seed (and other tips)

  • An infographic showing all the steps involved in growing an avocado tree at home (with extra information like what kinds of soil work best)

  • A listicle with 101 tips for gardening that includes everything from choosing the right plants for your location to finding out what size pot you need for each type of plant

Create Pinterest graphics from your blog posts to drive people back to your blog.

You can create Pinterest graphics from your blog posts and drive people back to your blog.

  • Create a Pinterest graphic using Canva or another tool that works best for you, and add a link back to your blog post with the Sniply extension (which creates links at the bottom of an image)

  • Add this new graphic to the top of one of your older posts on Pinterest.

Add images from blog posts to a podcast.

When it comes to repurposing content, podcasts are a great option for building your email list. They're also easy to create and can be used in your social media accounts. Plus, they're an effective way of showcasing your expertise—and making money!

You can take blog post images and use them as podcast covers or as screen captures that show up at certain points in the recording. They're a great way for audiences to see how you apply what you teach in the written word into actionable steps they can apply directly within their lives (or businesses).

Put up your video on YouTube, Instagram and Facebook at the same time.

If you want to reach as many people as possible, it's important to share your content on multiple platforms. You'll get more exposure by sharing the same message across multiple channels.

Get more out of your content marketing with repurposing strategies

Repurposing content is a great way to get more out of your content marketing strategy. It’s also an excellent way to repurpose the same piece of content across different social platforms, which can help you reach a wider audience and build up your brand.

There are many ways in which you can repurpose blog posts for social media, including:

  • Sharing it on Facebook and Twitter

  • Updating it with current information or statistics

  • Creating an infographic based on the post

I hope these examples have given you some ideas on how to repurpose your content! There are so many ways that this can be done and it’s really up to you as an individual or business owner. I think the most important thing is just to keep in mind what type of audience you’re trying reach and think about how they would like information presented to them.
