Simple Ways to Improve Your Email Conversion Rates

If growing your course or membership business seems challenging despite your best efforts, you're not alone. Many struggle to convert subscribers into paying customers through their email sequences, no matter how good the content.

Luckily there are some simple, actionable tips you can implement right away to see an immediate boost in your conversion rates.

Start with the end in mind

The first step is outlining your final conversion goal. What purchase, upgrade or upsell do you want subscribers to make further along in your sequence?

When creating your emails, work backwards from that end goal. Each email should then move subscribers one step closer to that conversion action. Staying focused on the ultimate objective will give your sequences more cohesion and purpose.

Test different call to action buttons

A/B test various CTA buttons in your email footers like "Download Now", "Join the Waitlist" and "Sign Up". You'll be surprised how the right button can increase your clickthrough rate by 10-20%!

Test different coloured buttons, locations within the email and varying urgency in the copy. Commit to testing at least two CTAs per sequence to find your most effective option.

Add social proof at the right points

Including customer reviews, quotes and case studies at select moments throughout your sequences can boost conversion rates.

Share a relevant testimonial or result at strategic inflection points - right before a key CTA. Subscribers will be more convinced to take that next step after seeing social proof from someone like them.

Start by testing just one review per sequence at the email with your lowest conversion. Over time, optimise by testing multiple proofs placed strategically.

Take one small step today towards improving your email results. Whether that means outlining one new conversion goal or testing one new CTA button, every improvement counts. By making simple tweaks and testing different strategies, you'll soon find what works best to convert more subscribers through your email sequences.
